People heading on short ski holidays this winter will find that France suits all their needs, regardless of budget, one source has said.

The Easy Destination blog said that ski holidays in France offer a range of options for groups, whether they are families, older travellers or young professionals.

It recommended Chamonix as one area where people on cheap ski breaks can indulge their passions for winter sports and savour some of the best runs on the continent.

"France has become a very popular winter sports holiday destination. The explosion in the number of people snowboarding has led to tourists going to France on snowboarding weekends and also long weekend skiing holidays," the source explained.

According to the Waste Resources Action Programme, those heading on ski holidays in France this year should use ski hire, as this is better for the environment than buying gear only to never use it again.
