Those heading on ski holidays to Courchevel in the coming weeks will find that the conditions in the Three Valleys do not get much better than they are in 2012, one source has observed.

That is the opinion of Alan Furniss, writing for the advice site Courchnet.com, who said that the dumps of snow observed in recent weeks have created one of the finest snow bases for years in the Three Valleys.

He noted that people in every major resort in and around the region, including Meribel, Courchevel, Val Thorens and Brides Les Bains, will be well catered for on their ski weekend in the near future.

"There appears to be very little change likely in the weather, with blue skies and cold temperature. Wrap up warm and enjoy it if you're here this week. It doesn't get much better than this!" Mr Furniss added.

Recently, the Daily Telegraph pointed out that the Three Valleys is the biggest linked ski area in France, with over 600km of runs, so is ideal for skiers who want to cover plenty of ground during their ski weekends.
