Ski Area and Lift Passes

There are 2 distinct sections of ski area in Courmayeur, both of which favour intermediates with mostly red runs. The Checrouit and the Val Veny offer wide open red runs as well as tree line cruising pistes. Lift passes cover all of Courmayeur as well as access to most lifts in the Chamonix Valley.

Beginners **

There are several gentle nursery slopes at Plan Checrouit and the small area served by the Tzaly drag, just above the Entreves cable car top station has decent beginner terrain and has reliable snow.

Intermediates ****

The open Checrouit section is go anywhere territory for intermediate skiers with an abundance of good blue and red runs. The Val Veny side offers more interesting tree lined terrain, wherever you ski as an intermediate you are well catered for.

Advanced ***

The limited number of pisted black runs in the area are on the Val Veny side. With the help of a guide, expert skiers have access to some of the best off-piste skiing in the world including the famous Vallee Blanche descent from the top of the Mont Blanc.

Lift Pass Coverage

Lift pass covers all resorts in Courmayeur and may be used for 1 day in one of the other ski resorts in the Aosta Valley, Flaine and on most of the Chamonix lifts.

PRIVATE LESSONS

With it´s sixty years of experience the Monte Bianco Ski and Board School has over 140 ski instructors at its disposal at all the times. There are specialists in downhill, cross country, snowboarding, trainers, national instructors and ex-athletes including the Pramotton brothers, Matte Belfrond, Marco Albarello, Paola Marciandi and Marcella Biondi. The school´s activities range from private to group lessons, from specialists courses to coaching athletes and training future ski instructors, from accompanyng skiers around the network of runs, to carving, to snow blades and discovering the marvellous off piste runs. As 80% of the school´s clients are children there has been considerable investment in an enclosed area, 2400m2, entirely devoted to teaching beginners.

Private lessons can be organised for individuals and small groups of the same standard and are available in 1, 2 & 4 hour, half day and full day slots. We recommend these are requested at the time of booking in order to have the best chance of getting your preferred slot.
