Morzine is a large, lively, year round resort popular with the British crowd. It is a traditional town which sprawls along both sides of a river gorge. The centre offers plenty of apres-ski options with restaurants and bars lining the streets up to the lifts of Le Pleney. Although accommodation can be scattered there is an excellent multi-route bus service which links all parts of the town to the main lifts as well as neighbouring Les Gets. The close proximity to Geneva airport makes it ideal for those looking for a convenient weekend ski destination.
Morzine has an extensive local area of slopes which it shares with its smaller neighbour Les Gets. The main area is accessed by gondola to Le Pleney which has a compact network of pistes suiting all abilities with blue and red options from every lift. There are plenty of tree-lined runs which offer scenic and interesting skiing. Snowboarders are also well catered for due to the lack of both draglifts and flat sections in the area. The Super Morzine gondola provides access to, and back from (there is no piste alternative), Avoriaz and the wider expanse of the Porte du Soleil region.
