Chalet Tavernier was added to the Ski Weekends ski chalet programme in 22/23 and was immediately one of our most popular chalets. Featuring a sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi with fabulous sunset views, the chalet is home from home.

Spacious and traditionally furnished, Chalet Tavernier sits in a quiet hamlet of traditional rural residences between Morzine and the Avoriaz Prodains Express Gondola, meaning you can ski in both Avoriaz and Morzine on you ski weekend.

Read More About Chalet Tavernier

Chalet Tavernier has 5 good sized bedrooms over three floors, each one with an en-suite shower and one room has a bath to soak in too. All rooms have twin beds and all can be made up as doubles; please request at the time of booking.

On the first floor, there's a spacious open-plan kitchen-diner, lounge with a lovely log burner and access to a terrace and jacuzzi with lovely valley views toward Morzine, the stunning cliffs of Avoriaz and across the fields to the forest. The kitchen diner and lounge were fully refurbished in December 2022.

The chalet has a ski room with boot dryers too.

As with all SkiWeekends chalets, there is a bag store available during the day if you would like to ski on your arrival and departure day, enabling to maximise your ski time in the Portes du Soleil.

The sauna is spacious and located on the ground floor, perfect to warm up and relax after a winter day on the slopes. The hot tub is outside on the terrace in a peaceful location, surrounded by the stunning rural landscape and wonderful views; perfect to relax in and soak up the tranquility of the valley after a hard days skiing.

The free ski bus to Morzine or the Prodains gondola is just a few minutes walk away. Buses run regularly throughout the day and into the evening, until 9pm.  At the foot of the Prodains lift and 8 - 10 minutes walk from the chalet there are a lovely selection of bars and restaurants with a good apres ski vibe.

Chalet Tavernier is a catered chalet with our Classic chalet board which consists of a continental plus a cooked option breakfast, delicious afternoon tea and cake and a 3-course evening meal with wine included, all provided by your friendly SkiWeekends hosts who live in on the ground floor *. Please note our chalet staff have 2 days off a week, a Wednesday and a Saturday. On these days they will leave continental only breakfast and afternoon tea out for you, but the evening meal is not provided, which gives you an opportunity to dine out in the local Prodains area which has a selection of local bars and restaurants. Alternately use the Prodains lift to dine in Avoriaz or the free bus service to dine out in Morzine.

* Due to cleaning, maintenance and refill/reheat time the hot tub is not available on arrival days

**Where the host lives in, they may or may not be the host looking after you during your stay. They have their own room and bathroom but you may see them using the chalet kitchen to prepare their food

"My stay was nothing short of phenomenal. The seamless blend of Ski Weekends' top-notch service and the personal touch of John and Carol made for an unforgettable experience. A heartfelt five-star review for Ski Weekends"John, guest January 2024
"The chalet hosts were lovely and very welcoming. We had the best few days! The chalet was very homely and was a great place to come back to each night!"Sjaanie, guest January 2024
"Tavernier exceeded our expectations for its spacious rooms and cosy living area and not to forget the lovely jacuzzi ;) The hosts were amazing and made us feel welcome instantly. Your cooking is to die for! Thank you!"Karin, guest December 2023
"As a vegetarian who has skiied for over 30 years, I often have to make compromises where food is concerned on my ski holidays in Europe. It was therefore an absolute joy to holiday in a SkiWeekends chalet and to have sumptuous vegetarian food prepared by a highly experienced chef. Breakfasts varied with a hot choice each day - perhaps porridge, scrambled eggs or eggy bread. The evening meals were stupendous - one night I had delicious Portobello mushrooms with pear and blue cheese, another night delicious Tarka daal, another night the most tasty roasted stuffed peppers. Most of the time I was too full for dessert and our hosts were so thoughtful and attentive to our needs. The wine flowed and we did not go short of anything. I would definitely recommend SkiWeekends heartily to skiers who expect top quality cuisine"Nikki, guest March 2023
