Set in a hamlet of traditional rural residences in the Vallee des Ardoisieres in Morzine, right in the heart of the Portes du Soleil and near the Avoriaz Prodains Express Gondola, the location is tranquil and homely. The free ski bus to Morzine or Prodains gondola is just a few minutes walk away. Buses run regularly throughout the day and into the evening*.  At the foot of the Prodains lift and 8 - 10 minutes walk from the chalet there are a lovely selection of bars and restaurants with a good after ski vibe to ski back to at the end of a fabulous day skiing.

This Chalet has 5 good sized bedrooms over three floors, each one with an en-suite shower and one room has a bath to soak in too. All rooms have twin beds and all can be made up as doubles; please request at booking.

On the first floor, there's a spacious open-plan kitchen-diner, lounge with a lovely log burner and access to a terrace and jacuzzi with lovely valley views toward Morzine, the stunning cliffs of Avoriaz and across the fields to the forest. The kitchen diner and lounge are being fully refurbished for the 2022 / 23 season (ready this December!).

The chalet has a ski room with boot dryers too.

As with all SkiWeekends chalets there is a bag store available during the day if you would like to ski on your arrival and departure day, enabling to maximise your ski time in Avoriaz or Morzine.

The sauna is spacious and located on the ground floor, perfect to warm up and relax after a winter day on the slopes. The hot tub is outside on the terrace in a peaceful location, surrounded by the stunning rural landscape and wonderful views; perfect to relax in and soak up the tranquility of the valley.

Chalet Tavernier is a catered chalet with our Classic chalet board which consists of a continental plus a cooked option breakfast, delicious afternoon tea and cake and a 3-course evening meal with wine included, all provided by your friendly SkiWeekends hosts who live in on the ground floor *. Please note our chalet staff have 2 days off a week, a Wednesday and a Saturday. On these days they will leave continental only breakfast and afternoon tea out for you, but the evening meal is not provided, which gives you an opportunity to dine out in the local Prodains area which has a selection of local bars and restaurants. Alternately use the Prodains lift to dine in Avoriaz or the free bus service to dine out in Morzine.

* Due to cleaning, maintenance and refill/reheat time, jacuzzis are not available on arrival days

**Where the host lives in, they may or may not be the host looking after you during your stay. They have their own room and bathroom but you may see them using the chalet kitchen to prepare their food

"Francesca and Martyn were AMAZING!! They went the extra mile every time. The chalet was really clean and was so comfortable and the perfect place to hang out. We loved the hot tub. As for the food - OMG - it was out of this world - so delicious! We were so well looked after! Thank you! If we knew we were getting Francesca and Martyn again next Christmas we would absolutely book again !!"Simi
"Francesca and Martyn were excellent hosts and did a great job of looking after the diverse group staying at the chalet. Chalet Tavernier was good with warm showers and comfortable beds - just what you need after skiing!"Isabel
"As a vegetarian who has skiied for over 30 years, I often have to make compromises where food is concerned on my ski holidays in Europe. It was therefore an absolute joy to holiday in a SkiWeekends chalet and to have sumptuous vegetarian food prepared by a highly experienced chef. Breakfasts varied with a hot choice each day - perhaps porridge, scrambled eggs or eggy bread. The evening meals were stupendous - one night I had delicious Portobello mushrooms with pear and blue cheese, another night delicious Tarka daal, another night the most tasty roasted stuffed peppers. Most of the time I was too full for dessert and our hosts were so thoughtful and attentive to our needs. The wine flowed and we did not go short of anything. I would definitely recommend SkiWeekends heartily to skiers who expect top quality cuisine"Nikki
