Sporthotel Royer

Spacious rooms, first-class dining, and excellent leisure facilities make Royer a popular choice for SkiWeekends guests. With the slopes of the Ski Amadé region right on the doorstep, guests can ski from morning till dusk, then relax in style with the hotel’s warm and welcoming après-ski atmosphere.

There is free WiFi throughout the hotel, a ski store with heated boot driers and a luggage store.

Dining & Bar Options

Panorama Restaurant

This is the  hotel's main large dining room (up to ~350 seats) offering buffet breakfasts and gourmet evening menus.

• Breakfast: A “vital” buffet from 7:00 to 10:30 am, plenty of variety to start the day well.
• Dinner: From about 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm they offer a 5-course gourmet evening menu, including fresh salad buffet and 1-2 “exquisite highlights” per week.
• Cuisine: Led by Head Chef Horst Plut, the kitchen blends traditional Austrian dishes with global flavour inspirations. They pay attention to dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, allergies).
• Also serves as a flexible event venue for gala evenings, buffets, themed events.

 Das Steirerstüberl (à la carte restaurant)

• A more intimate à-la-carte restaurant with a “modern-traditional” style.
• Offers fish, meat, vegetarian options, desserts — in short, full menu for a gourmet dining experience.
• Has a terrace and a cosy fireplace area (“open chimney”) for a relaxed evening ambiance.

Der Tatarenhut

• A signature culinary highlight: the “Tatarenhut” – a grill in the shape of a traditional Tartar hat where guests cook their choice of meats/vegetables themselves on hot steel spikes, finished with a rich vegetable-julienne broth, sauces, side dishes.
• Ideal for special occasions (couple dinners, family gatherings, corporate events) offered in the Steirerstüberl space.

The hotel bar is a meeting point for après-ski and social drinks in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There is also a “Cigar Lounge” mentioned among the hospitality venues (for guests who enjoy cigars in a dedicated setting).

Rest & Relaxation

After a day on the mountain, unwind in the hotel’s impressive wellness and leisure complex. Facilities include a large indoor swimming pool, sauna area, steam baths, gym, squash and tennis courts, and even a bowling alley — making Sporthotel Royer one of the most comprehensive ski hotels in Schladming.

Whether relaxing in the spa, enjoying a swim, or socialising with friends in the sports bar, every corner of the hotel is designed for comfort, convenience, and fun.

Your children will enjoy the indoor play area and games and puzzles are available; children of any ages are welcome and cots and beds are available on request, subject to availability and at a supplement. There are adjoining rooms, if available.

The teens lounge/funroom is a great place for older children to hang-out with table-tennis, video games, pinball and table football.

The Sport Hotel Royer is located just North East of the centre of Schladming, but within easy walking distance of everything you need for a great ski holiday. There is a SPAR supermarket across the road from the hotel.

• Distance to piste/lifts: the hotel is a 6-7 minute walk to the main Planai gondola
• Distance to resort centre: You can reach Schladming centre in a 10 minute walk
• Distance to ski hire shop: Skiset Tritscher III Planai (Olympic) is located on Coburgstrasse, a 7 minute walk from the hotel

The bedrooms are comfortable, spacious, stylish and are finished in light wood and harmonizing tones. Many rooms have a balcony and Austrian twin beds are typical of the region, they have one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, each with their own bedding. All rooms at the Sporthotel Royer include an ensuite bathroom with bath, free toiletries, bathrobe with slippers, hairdryer. 

Family Room - 2 adults & 2 children (2-14 yrs old), spacious room with Austrian twin bed, pull-out double sofa bed, bathroom with bathtub with shower, balcony.  40m².

Double Room - 2 people, Austrian twin bed, bathroom with bathtub with shower, some with balcony. 23m².

Resort tax is paid locally and is approximately €2.50 per person, per day.

Free private parking is available at the hotel. The underground car park is charged at € 10.00 per day, per car.

You can arrive any day at the Sporthotel Royer with SkiWeekends, and there is a minimum 3 night stay, subject to seasonal variations.

Check In: available from 3pm.

Check Out: you will need to vacate your room by 11am.

There is a bag store at the hotel if you arrive early or have a late flight on your departure day, giving you the chance to maximise your ski time.

If you would like to book a shared, return mini-bus transfer from Salzburg Airport with us, it will drop you right at the door of the hotel.

Another good option is to get the train. Salzburg Airport to Schladming is just 2 hours by train, and the hotel offers a free pick-up from the train station, but this must be arranged with us before travel.

Private transfers are also available on all days (typically we recommend avoiding Saturdays as the roads are very busy!).

If you wish to hire a car and self-drive, the journey between Salzburg Airport and Schladming takes around 1hr 15 minutes. Free private parking is available at the hotel. The underground car park is charged at € 10.00 per day, per car.
