When people are planning ski holidays in France they should consider heading to the slopes of Morzine, where visitors will find one of the largest Alpine ski regions in Europe, an expert has claimed.

Writing for the Daily Telegraph this week, professional skier James Woods said Brits enjoying Morzine's peaks can "ski for days without doing the same run twice" thanks to its extensive terrain.

He added: "Ski into Switzerland on the Swiss Wall – it's a pretty steep run but there's also an easier option that runs alongside it."

Mr Woods warned, however, that people taking ski holidays in Morzine should not schuss with too much speed if they are not entirely comfortable doing so, as some of the runs are quite "deceiving".

Meanwhile, the Independent has reported this week that Portes du Soleil, the closest major ski area to Geneva airport, is perfect for ski holidays with the family.
