People thinking of heading on short ski holidays to Morzine this winter must ensure they are fully insured, an expert has advised.

Maxine Baker, travel insurance manager at moneysupermarket.com, said that cover is "essential" for people on cheap ski breaks.

The expert recommended that people shop around on the internet to get the best possible deal to save money ahead of their journey.

"There are competitive deals out there for those jetsetters prepared to shop around online for the best deals for them and their families," she explained.

Ms Baker added that people should make sure they take a European Health Insurance Card to the slopes, so that they can enjoy their bargain ski holidays with peace of mind that they are covered.

Recently, Mark Cuschieri, regional head of travel Europe, the Middle East and Africa for UBS Investment Bank, said that those going on cheap ski breaks to Morzine this winter should make sure they do not fall for any hidden charges.
