The line-up for the annual Rock the Pistes festival in the Portes du Soleil has been announced, with winter sports fans set for plenty of excitement in late March.

Taking place between March 24th and 28th 2012, the event gathers seven French and international musicians for five days of gigs and is free to attend for all skiers and snowboarders in the 12 Franco-Swiss resorts with a ski pass!

British group Archive will be in Avoriaz on March 28th and are sure to keep people entertained.

They have been playing together since 1994 and have already released eight albums, while their song 'You make me feel' has been used in a Levi's advert.

Meanwhile, the French four-piece band LYS, who sing in English, will also be thrilling the crowds, the World Snowboard Guide pointed out.

"But it’s in 2011 that things really kicked off. Winners of the Warner Music competition during the Portes du Soleil's Festival des Concerts Sauvages, they got to record their first album in Warner studios," the website added.

With acts including Louis Bertignac and Gerlad de Plams also set to keep winters sports fans entertained, people heading on ski holidays to the Portes du Soleil region in late March will not be disappointed.
