Those in search of fine food on their ski weekends will find that a visit to Courmayeur provides them with plenty of opportunities to indulge their passion, one source has stated.

Adrian Bridge, writing for the Daily Telegraph, spoke of a recent trip to Courmayeur and said that the resort is easily one of the best in Europe when it comes to having a wide range of excellent restaurants to choose from.

He noted that even people who do not intend on having a meal will be tempted by the aromas emanating from the kitchens of the restaurants and be compelled to enter.

"The menu at the Chiecco Bar/Restaurant just above Plan Checrouit included dishes such as wild boar with polenta, suckling pig with roast potatoes, escalopes of foie gras, and lamb chops with an exquisite mustard sauce - the best I have tasted," Mr Bridge wrote.

He added that there are also plenty of less expensive restaurants to ensure that even people with tight budgets will be well catered for.

Meanwhile, according to the Where to Ski and Snowboard 2011 guide, Courmayeur's longstanding popularity ensures that there is a wide range of packages on offer, including some excellent ski weekend deals, mainly in the resort's hotels.
