People in search of a resort which can provide them with culture as well as winter sports thrills will find that La Plagne ticks the box perfectly, it has been claimed.

A post on the Bugaboo Alpine Travelling blog noted that La Plagne's interesting history and architecture provide people with a different kind of ski holiday which is both thought-provoking and thrilling.

"Historically, La Plagne was used as an area to store military munitions. Today, the Mont de la Guerre is a piste attributed to these battles. The town centre even houses a war cenotaph," the source explained.

It added that the high volume of visitors to La Plagne each year is a testament to the enduring popularity of the town and its rich history.

Meanwhile, a post on recently noted that the new cable car from La Plagne to Les Arcs not only allows those in the resort to see what else the region has to offer, but also provides much easier access to the excellent slopes in La Plagne.
