People heading on skiing holidays in Les Arcs can be part of a unique phenomenon which sees some of the resort's slopes transformed overnight, one source has claimed. said that on many mornings, people on skiing holidays in Les Arcs wake to find that unique patterns have been etched in the snow, an occurrence which provides special photo opportunities.

"Like an Alpine version of crop circles, you may have noticed complex geometric patterns marked out in the snow. Alien contact? Divine intervention? Drunken students?" the source asked.

It revealed that the explanation is a cartographer from the UK called Simon Beck, who is also a keen snowshoe hiker and spends hours at a time creating the patterns for the amusement of those on skiing holidays.

Meanwhile, the Move Channel recently observed that skiing holidays in Les Arcs are a "hidden gem" and perfect for people looking for a ski holiday away from the hustle and bustle.
