The ski resort of Meribel is now better suited to family ski weekends than ever, after the addition of two new attractions in the form of the Acticross and Moon Wild.

Younger winter sports enthusiasts testing their skills on the Acticross can enjoy woops, tunnels, banked turns and small slaloms which are intended to provide them with a gentle introduction to ski weekends.

Meanwhile, those under the age of six can try the Moon Wild, a new learning area for children where families are encouraged to discover the local plant life and animals as they ski, with giant snow sculptures to marvel at while on the runs.

Meanwhile, non-skiers can now also access the learning area thanks to the addition of a footpath alongside the slopes.

Older winter sports fans heading on ski holidays in Meribel in the coming weeks will also be able to brush up on their skills, as a new off-piste ski school has opened in the resort.

The programme has been launched by the ESF and involves experienced instructors putting winter sports enthusiasts through their paces, with both advanced skiers and novices invited to take part.
