Ski weekends in Morzine remain popular with winter sports enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, according to one source which has extolled the virtues of the resort.

Adam Leigh, writing for the Independent, said that Morzine's combination of stunning scenery and excellent slopes will ensure that people are never disappointed.

"The town has a youthful, funky feel, while retaining a good deal of old-world Savoyard charm. In addition to the burgeoning chalet scene, there's a smattering of small to medium trad-style hotels," he explained.

Mr Leigh also described the apres ski entertainment in the resort as "lively" but noted that it stops short of being raucous so is perfect for families.

Writing on recently, Zoe Gillings, Britain's most successful ever Olympic snowboard cross athlete, said that Morzine is her favourite place to test her skills thanks to the variety of slopes there.
