People heading on ski weekends in Morzine this winter will be able to do their bit for the environment, as many of the resort's chalets have signed up to a new energy-saving scheme.

More than 30 chalets in the French ski resort have signed up to a new programme to reduce water and energy consumption during the 2010-2011 ski season in a bid to show how small changes can make a big difference.

According to More Mountain's Jon Dredge, everyone he has met has been supportive of the programme.

"We all rely on the snow for our businesses to function, so hopefully we can work together to share ideas and every chalet operator involved will be able to reduce their energy and water consumption in some way," he explained.

According to the Daily Telegraph, there are some excellent rustic eateries and affordable mountain restaurants in Morzine's local ski area available to people enjoying ski weekends, with Chez Nannon and Cremailliere particularly popular.

Fantastic Bargain Ski Holidays in Morzine.
