There has been heavy snowfall in Meribel recently, making conditions ideal for people heading on ski holidays in the near future, one source has reported.

According to the Ski Club of Great Britain's snow report, the weather across Europe has been encouraging in the last few weeks, with big dumps of snow and regular flurries helping to keep the slopes in good shape.

The source said that Meribel in particular has experienced "significant" snowfall in the last few days, with 25cm over the weekend.

"Snow conditions in Europe continue to be on the up thanks to recent snowfall across resorts. Sunday February 27th brought the snow to France, with many resorts reporting snow in the second half of the weekend and into this week," it stated.

A recent post on the Travel Ski Resorts blog noted that Meribel's beauty is almost unrivalled in Europe, with glistening peaks and tree-lined runs creating perfect picture opportunities.
