People on skiing holidays in Chamonix should have a sports massage after their first day on the slopes.

The London Evening Standard urged winter sports fans to take care of their body when on skiing holidays, adding that they should also prepare before jetting away.

Among its recommendations is to stretch well before going and after a hard day's skiing, with skiers being urged to focus on their lower body.

"Snow-boarders need to stretch the upper body as well," the newspaper added, saying that core twists are ideal.

Cardio exercise should also be undertaken, with interval training being good preparation as it involves 30-second sprints followed by one-minute pace spinning.

"To improve side-to-side agility, stand in a relaxed half squat position and step quickly side-to-side, maintaining the squat," it added.

This week Stefan Palm, a Pure Powder ski guide, told the Times that mountain biking is good cardio exercise before hitting the slopes.
