People thinking of heading to the slopes this winter should consider Val d'Isere as a destination, because the resort has plenty to offer, according to one expert.

Global Travel News said that those on skiing holidays in Val d'Isere are unlikely to be disappointed by the area, as it has all that winter sports enthusiasts could hope for, from excellent ski runs to a wide selection of bars and restaurants for apres ski fun.

"Val d'Isère is part, together with close commune Tignes, of what is known as the Espace Killy, the perfect ski paradise area with more than 180 miles of ski pistes of all types and levels and more than 250 acres of off-piste," the source said.

It added that the Alpine World Cup events which recently took place in the resort have also increased the allure of heading on a bargain skiing holiday to the destination.

Meanwhile, those travelling to Val d'Isere this season were recently issued advice by the Foreign Office to make sure they do not drink alcohol then go skiing immediately afterwards, in order to improve the safety of the resort.
