The resort of Morzine has retained its popularity over the years without its old-world charm being lost, one source has observed.

A post on the Countryside Vacation Cabins blog observed that Morzine's combination of stunning winter sports thrills and traditional French ambience means that those on ski weekends in the resort get the best of both worlds.

Situated in the heart of Portes de Soleil, the source described Morzine as an "integral part" of the largest interlinked ski area on the planet, with dozens of thrilling runs to tackle.

"These include wooded tree sections, wide-open slopes, seven purpose-built snow parks and infinite opportunities to venture off-piste. There is no need to worry about a lack of snowfall either, as snow canons ensure the piste is always in prime condition," it explained.

Recently, Janine Kelso, writing for TNT Magazine, stated that Morzine offers the luxury associated with some of the larger European slopes without the high prices.
