Winter sports fans heading to Les Gets this winter will benefit from much better value thanks to the recovery of the pound against the Euro, one sector expert has claimed.

Betony Garner, spokeswoman for the Ski Club of Great Britain, said that in recent years winter sports fans have been "hit" with steep prices, but this is unlikely to be a problem this year as sterling has gained ground in 2010.

"In the last two seasons skiers and snowboarders have been hit by the weak pound against the euro and the Swiss franc. The recovery of the pound is definitely going to help skiers get better value for money in Europe," she stated.

It comes after the Post Office's Where to Ski resort report showed that UK skiers should benefit from better value in Europe this winter, thanks to a sterling recovery against 2009's rock bottom exchange rates.

Ms Garner added that the lesser known resorts may also be popular this winter as they are likely to provide better value for money.
