Those heading on skiing holidays in Val Thorens always have something to keep them entertained, such as the Altitude Comedy Festival, one traveller has said.

Mark Palmer, writing for the Daily Mail, spoke of a recent trip to the region which involved taking part in the fun and games associated with the event, including the fancy dress jamboree.

On this occasion, he and two other people on skiing holidays in Val Thorens dressed up as a chicken, a nun and an army officer to schuss down the slopes and attempt to win a prize for their outfit.

"Predictably, the races start and finish at popular bars in the resort, with some riotous skiing and snowboarding in between," he said.

People travelling on skiing holidays in Val Thorens will not have to break the bank either, according to Colin Nicholson, writing in the Metro, who said that he recently noticed that the resort is one of the least expensive winter sports destinations on the continent.
