People heading to the slopes this year may want to be more frugal with their money and this could be achieved by taking a credit card away with them, one expert has noted.

Financial analyst Emma Roberts pointed out that thousands of people will be heading on skiing holidays to destinations such as Valmorel this year and said that taking a credit card away can help them to avoid any extra charges and keep costs to a minimum.

"One way that winter holidaymakers can avoid unnecessary additional costs is to use a credit card that doesn't charge them a fee on transactions made in a foreign currency," she explained.

Ms Roberts added that many people will be trying new destinations this year as they hunt for the best ski holiday deals while still looking for a reliable resort.

The news follows a recent report in the Daily Mail, which pointed out that many companies are slashing the cost of skiing holidays in order to provide winter sports enthusiasts with more bargains.
