Massive Dump Alert
It started snowing on Sunday morning and hasn't stopped!  Chamonix are forcasting over one metre of snow in the next week and in Meribel the resort woke up to 25cm of fresh snow this morning!

The general summary is snow until Wednesday night, then a pause, then more forecast over the weekend.  There is already a great base of packed snow, so conditions are fabulous !

Dash away to revel in the powder or make your plans fast to escape to perfect conditions.  The phones are going mad and we are selling out of many weekend dates.

Resort Report -  Our first press trip to Chamonix, read what they thought .....
Spacer Image
Spacer Image This weekend we ran our annual press trip. The journalists joined us on our new coach weekends to the Hotel Le Vert in Chamonix.

We met at Victoria, the coach weekend was to be a new experience.  We were soon settled down and after a movie and a couple of drinks we nodded off.  We awoke to brilliant sunshine, blue skies and crisp white snow dressing Chamoninx for our arrival at 08:25.  We showered, had breakfast, got our equipment and were on the snow by 10:15.

Our one and only snowboarder had  a two hour lesson booked and off she went, whilst the rest of us found our legs on the Brevent ski area.  We all met up for lunch at the Panoramoic, a restaurant worthy of it's name with stunning views of  Mont Blanc.  That afternoon we took the linking cable car and explored the long blues and reds of Flegere.  The evening was spent in Le Vert eating a delicious 3 course menu and after a few drinks we fell into our beds.

The next moring bright and early our Snowboarder and Rep, Jane, headed off to La tour to cruise it's lovely wide pistes and ski through the trees towards Switzerland.  The rest of us headed up to 3842M, at the top of the Aigielle du Midi with our Evolution 2 mountain guide Stephan.  We took in the view, posed for photo's then got kitted up for the infamous Vallee Blanche.
Safety Harnesses, avalanche beeps, crampons and roped together, we set off down the famous arret.  On the right a 100m slide to a crevas, on the left 1500M of near vertical drop!  Thanks to Stephan we made it and set off down the Vallee Blanche.  Great sking and stunning scenery, it really is a must do and a guide is essential!

That night we went out for a quiet drink..... and failed! We started at Bard-Up, they eventually let us out and we ended the night in the Terrace, dancing along to live music.

The last day brought cloud, then snow and more snow and wind. This meant that some of the lifts were closed, but it didnt dampen our spirits and by lunchtime we were skiing on creamy fresh powder all over the slopes.  Perfect!

Finally is was time for the Vert's famous full Sunday lunch before putting our tired limbs onto to the coach ready for home... what a weekend.

So here's what the press said, watch out for the full reports coming up over the next few weeks

Abi Challenor - Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard Magazine
The perfect cure for us time-poor snow addicts suffering the effects of the financial crisis - SkiWeekends trips offer three full days on the mountain at rock bottom prices with only one day off work. And this season their new destination, Chamonix, offers a fantastic range of both on- and off-piste to suit all abilities, while real adventurers can marvel at the stunning glacial scenery of the famous Vallee Blanche. Now there's something to tell your colleagues over coffee on Monday morning.

Daniel Landon - TNT Magazine
Three days on the slopes, five ski fields, dozens of bars and restaurants, and perhaps the most famous ski run in the world - a Ski Weekend in Chamonix will certainly not leave you wanting when it comes to on- or off-snow action. Taking only one day off work to spend three full days skiing or boarding is a great way to find out why Chamonix has such a stellar reputation. Whether you're into skiing, boarding, off-piste adventures, apres-ski partying, fine food, or simply enjoying a fabulous mountain resort, Chamonix has it all - including the  amazing Vallée Blanche: a 20km off-piste run with a vertical drop of 2800 metres which has to be skied to be believed.

San Thomson -  Brighton Argus
What a way to spend a weekend! The trip from bus station to slopes was very well organised, the hotel nice and friendly, the skiing tough but rewarding and the scenery at altitude quite literally breathtaking
