If you're upset that the festive season is over then it may be time to take a short ski holiday in Chamonix and celebrate Christmas all over again.

Russian Christmas has been celebrated in the resort for the past six years and festivities get underway on January 5th, with a number of seasonal events scheduled to take place.

According to chamonet.com, visitors can expect snowman competitions, entertainment and film screenings on Russian Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day will see the Snow Queen visit the Savoy piste, as well as the snow fairies, who will be on hand to dish out hot chocolate and sweet treats.

Other events taking place include the Christmas party at Montenvers, for which tickets can be purchased from the resort's tourist office.

In relate news, the Telegraph reported earlier this week that despite the current economic downturn, thousands of ski enthusiasts are being lured to the slopes by the heavy snow and excellent skiing conditions.
