Chamonix Opens the 2011 Freeride World Tour

21 September 2010
Ski news brought to you by, specialists in bargain ski holidays and ski holidays in France.

The hugely entertaining Freeride World Tour has increased its stops from 4 to 6 in 2011.  The tour sees the worlds best ski and snowboard freeriders hit the mountains and find their way down at breath taking speeds, off piste, through couloirs, trees and over hangs.  These freeriders are the adrenaline junkies we see on film in the après ski bars.

The Freeride World Tour first stop, will be in wonderful mountain sport mecca; Chamonix in France on Saturday January 22nd 2011.  Chamonix always dishes up the ultimate challenge in all mountain sports due to the extreme mountains that rise up from within the valley in which Chamonix sits.   Being only an hours drive from Geneva and being a very popular French ski holiday destination, the opening event is sure to draw the crowds and create a festival atmosphere in the town.  A great way to see the opening of this Freeride tour and enjoy the atmosphere of the event would be to take a ski weekend of snowboard weekend.  This will ensure a full day in Chamonix on the Saturday when it all happens.  Perfect entertainment for the ski weekender.

The Freeride world tour will find its World Champions after its 6th stope in Verbier, Switzerland on March 19th 2011.  This is where the mens and womens champions will be crowned.
