A new ski pass has been launched in Chamonix which gives winter sports enthusiasts the opportunity to use many other facilities in the resort without having to invest in further passes.

With the ChamVal ski pass, for €2 a day extra anyone buying a Chamonix Le Pass or Mont Blanc Unlimited lift pass will be able to use facilities such as the swimming pool, ice rink and Alpine museum in Chamonix.

In addition, the pass, which has been developed jointly between the lift operator and the local tourist office, provides access to the Espace Tairraz, the Maison de l'Alpage and the mountain museum in Les Houches.

People wishing to buy the pass during their ski weekends can pick it up from the Espace Tairraz, Alpine Museum, the leisure centre or the tourist office in Les Houches.

Recently, Adam Ruck, writing for the Daily Telegraph, said that Chamonix is particularly good after Christmas, when people can pick up good deals on flights and accommodation and the snow conditions are excellent.
