People in search of fine food on their ski weekends will find that Courmayeur has some of the finest restaurants in Europe, one sector source has stated.

According to the Where to Ski and Snowboard guide, Courmayeur's mixture of renowned restaurants and lower-priced alternatives means that it will suit any type of budget.

"In downtown Courmayeur, we've been impressed by the traditional Italian cuisine of both Pierre Alexis and Cadran Solaire. But the popular Terrazza is reportedly the 'best in town, with wonderful local food and great service'," the source stated.

The guide added that Mont-Frety is also "smart, modern and a favourite of the Milan set", while the Tunnel pizzeria, the Piazetta, Al Camin and the Vieux Pommierhave also been recommended for their fine traditional cuisine.

These sentiments were recently echoed by the Breaking Blue blog, which said that the cuisine in Courmayeur is "exquisite" and the resort is rightly famed for it, with the mountainside Chiecco restaurant being described as a "gem".
