Those taking a short ski break in Courchevel may find themselves bumping into some extra special guests during their break.

According to reports by, the resort is still managing to attract "its fair share of posh clients", despite the economic downturn.

The Saudi royal family is said to be holidaying in the resort at present, for the second successive year.

"Last year was quite a spectacle, with the family deciding to extend their stay, which resulted in them reserving an entire TGV train for their entourage of 145 people," the website noted.

However, the royals are said to be keeping a lower profile this year and have instead opted for a fleet of luxury 4x4s.

Members of the family are said to be staying in several hotels around the resort.

Courchevel has long been popular with the rich and famous, with the Beckhams hitting the slopes there regularly.
