March Snow Forecast for Ski Weekends in the Alps

Mid-March Snow Update

19 March 2015

According to some reports there's going to be substantial snowfall in many resorts next week...but are these just rumours? It's not unusual for there to be great snow in late March so let's hope it comes!

The Skiweekends resorts are already enjoying great conditions but with more snow forecast for the next week or so skiing at the end of March and in to April is looking like it could be absolutely superb!

Some resorts had fresh snow last weekend, with about 20cm falling in Val d'Isere for example. Other resorts such as Morzine and Meribel didn't quite get the same treat but nevertheless have continued to enjoy some lovely spring skiing conditions, basking in the afternoon in hand of course!

Snow is expected in many resorts this Saturday/Sunday with temperatures dropping through next week. Mid-week from Wednesday onwards it will very much feel like winter with Meribel dropping to -15℃ and Chamonix could see up to half a metre of fresh snow at 2400m*. It feels like winter is returning...for a few days at least!

Elsewhere in the 3 Valleys, Courchevel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens are all following a similar theme...snow over the weekend and then a few more inches from Tuesday night onwards, although not as much as in Chamonix. La Plagne and the Paradiski in general will be similar to the 3 Valleys, more higher up but up to 20cm over the weekend and the same again mid-week.

Over in the Espace Killy, it looks like Val d'Isere will see more than Tignes with another 30cm over this weekend alone, great news if you're worried about Easter skiing, it looks set to be a fantastic end March/April.
