Super Snow For The Start of March

26 February 2015

After the half term skiers departed reports from resort said the pistes were getting a bit over-skied. But not anymore! The snow has returned and it even snowed the evening that many half term skiers left!

The snow seems to be falling fairly regularly now, with a few days of snow and then a break for sunshine...and that's no different for this weekend and in to next week. Some resorts will see another 20-30cm over the next few days, keeping the snow levels nicely topped up for the start of March.

We regularly post the latest photos from different ski resorts on our Facebook page, so take a look and allow yourself to get distracted with the thought of being there too!

Below we have put together a snow report summary for some of our Skiweekends resorts, but of course you can also look for yourself at the webcams using our Weather & Webcams page.

Light snow on Friday with possible sunny spells, brightens up some more on Saturday with a sunny start to the day. A little more snow on Saturday building to heavier snowfall on Sunday with as much as 45cm falling expected at 2200m.
Friday could bring over 20cm of snow. A generally brighter day on Saturday is expected perhaps with a few snow clouds building up to bring an extra 15cm or so on Sunday. Temperatures are generally staying between -5 and -12 ℃ at 2020m for the next week ahead.
La Plagne
With some light snow due on Thursday night/Friday the sun is forecast for Saturday. Then Sunday/Monday will bring as much as 35cm of new snow with Tuesday to make the most of conditions in the sunshine.
Chamonix of course has the benefit of some higher peaks and this is reflected in the snowfall expected. There could be 30cm at 2440m on Thursday night/Friday alone. Then on Sunday and Monday the snow gets heavier with predictions of over 70cm of fresh powder! As the week progresses more snow continues with it slowing at the end of the week.
La Clusaz
The weekend starts well with approx 15-20cm snow forecast. Going in to Monday temperature will rise a little but despite this it's plenty cold enough to expect 40cm at 2600m. Towards the end of next week the skiing in La Clusaz will be truly fantastic with another 50cm due to fall from Wednesday onwards.

Is all this talk of fresh snow making you want to ski?
