Taking A Gap Year
Year Out Programs To Work, Ski & Travel
At Snow Academy, we are experts in winter sport instructor courses and qualifications that allow you to go on and use them to work in the mountains. What is there not to love about that?!
On our Whistler instructor courses, we offer CSIA (ski) qualifications, CASI (snowboard) qualifications and also on one of our 11-week courses you can get the BASI certification too. Whatever course you choose all of them can lead to working a winter ski season (or 2 or 3 or 4!) enabling you to do the winter sports you love as much a possible. Read more about the different ski/snowboard qualifications.
Not only will you be living and skiing in arguably the worlds best ski resort but on your gap year in Canada you will make great friends and have the experience of a lifetime!
If you don't want to be an instructor or don't think your skiing is up to it, becoming a chalet host is the perfect alternative start to your gap year. Learn skills you'll need to work in a hotel/chalet for the winter ski season as well as arranging interviews for you with potential employers so you can get that perfect gap year job.
When signing up for our ski or snowboard instructor courses or our chalet cookery course all our courses offer accommodation, so you don't need to worry about a thing.
