SKI Area

When staying in Soldeu, you will be skiing in the Grandvalira ski area – the largest ski area in the Pyrenees. The Grandvalira ski area not only encompasses the village of Soldeu but also Pas Le Casa and El Tarter, from which you can access Grandvalira’s extensive 210km of skiing. This is fantastic for skiers staying in Soldeu as your lift pass provides access to all three resorts and a huge variety of skiing. The three bases of Soldeu, Pas De La Casa and El Tarter are all easily accessible from one another, adding huge variety to your holiday. Ski down to El Tarter for lunch or finish your day in Pas Le Casa before taking the ski bus home. The lifts in the Grandvalira ski area compromise of predominantly chairlifts but also include a few gondolas and button lifts throughout. Overall,  Soldeu is a huge resort which can give some alpine resorts a run for their money in terms of size. You can ski to your heart's content with more than enough skiing to keep you busy for a week and it is unlikely you will ski the same run twice.

Take a look below at our breakdown to find out more information relevant to your ability:

Advanced

Although advanced skiers may not necessarily be challenged by a huge range of difficult runs around Soldeu there are some good blacks which can be enjoyed which are located around the gondola. Across the three resorts, Soldeu, El Tarter and Pas De La Casa, there are some lovely black runs to be found which are dotted throughout the mountains.

Intermediates

The skiing in Soldeu is best described as an ‘intermediates heaven’ with a fantastic range of red and blue runs. There are also some great runs for those intermediates who enjoy a simple cruisy slope. There are some wonderful red runs which make their way into El Tarter which aren't too challenging and descend nicely down the mountain.

Beginners

Soldeu is a great place to ski for beginners due to its easy blues and the good ski school. When you reach the top of the Gondola, you will find yourself at Espiolets, a mini-resort which sits at the top of Soldeu. Here you will find a good, English speaking ski school where you can book and take lessons – fantastic for beginners.
