Ski info
  • Ski area

With a diverse range of terrain, Axamer Lizum successfully caters for all skiing ability levels. With around 40 kilometres of pistes (including 10 kilometres of ski routes) and 10 ski lifts, you are able to charge around the whole mountain with complete ease.

For beginners, there is around 7 kilometres of progressive terrain to find your ski legs on; Also, there are two drag lifts (Kaserwald 1+2) just beyond the main base which provide a great area for first timers to get started. Intermediates may be faced with the difficult decision of which run to try first as you are completely spoilt for choice among the plentiful blues and reds! For the advanced skiers who wish to venture further afield, there is an incredible opportunity to try a bit of ski touring or even just grabbing a guide and finding some powder pockets.

    The resort

Axamer Lizum has an impressive ski heritage and has been part of Innsbruck Winter Olympics in both 1964 and 1976. The resort was chosen for its snowsure conditions, great terrain and easily accessible location. Whilst Axamer Lizum does have a couple of hotels and restaurants, it is seen more as a lift base, which makes it an extremely convenient option for those that are after a quick ski break on the slopes. The convenience does not end there however; at only a 40-minute bus ride away from Innsbruck, you can make the most of a short transfer whilst having the opportunity to enjoy what this fantastic city has to offer. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a foodie, then eating out in Innsbruck covers all bases; from award winning restaurants to your classic kebab shop, they have it all!

Whilst there are a few bars up on the mountain, the party-goers head towards the Innsbruck city centre to soak up the atmosphere with a stein of beer in hand! This is the perfect location for a short ski break whether you are staying in Axamer Lizum itself or Innsbruck. With the short transfer times you can maximise your time on the slopes and make the most of what the city has to offer – ideal right?
