At 1800m St Christoph is one of the highest ski resorts in the Alps. It is also located right in the heart of the Arlberg ski area, home to some of the world’s best skiing and next door to one of the world’s most famous ski resorts – St Anton. With unparalleled access to around 350km of pisted runs, St Christoph is the perfect place to stay for keen skiers interested in getting the first tracks on fresh groomers each morning.

St Christoph may be a little limited for beginners, though a short bus trip down to St Anton will solve this problem if necessary. For intermediate and advanced snowsports enthusiasts, the Arlberg area really is heaven on earth for the ski resort is home to 200km of designated powder runs, not to mention the Stanton terrain park! The whole area is connected by a mammoth 97 state-of-the-art lifts, so if you fancy a bit of a challenge, see if you can get on them all before it is time to go home!

Whilst Arlberg is a great area for snowboarders, it has mainly won awards for being the best ski resort in the world, the best resort in the Alps for advanced skiers as well as being given an award as the best off-piste resort; so it may well turn out to be your best ski holiday as well!

    The resort

St Christoph ski resort has incredible access to the whole of the Arlberg area. Its ski-in-ski-out location means that it is perfect for those who want to make the most of the skiing and be the first ones on the mountain every morning! St Christoph is a quiet area with only a few hotels and restaurants, including one of the best mountain restaurants in the Alps – the famous Hospiz Alm.

St Christoph rose to fame in the 14th century when a shepherd called Heinrich Findelkind built a hospice in order to provide shelter from the menacing environment. There is of course a bit more than that there now and you may just find that the tranquil St Christoph is the perfect spot in the Alps to enjoy a fine wine next to a roaring winter fire.

This is the ideal resort for keen snow-loving couples as it is far quieter than the après ski capital of the world, St Anton. Those that like the idea of staying up the mountain but are still interested in the après scene of St Anton will have to be prepared to get a bus or taxi back to St Christoph – this only takes around 30 minutes. However you wish to spend your ski break though, this is a beautiful resort with incredible skiing and is sure not to disappoint!
