Les Angles is a charming traditional mountain village situated in The French Pyrenees. Due to its excellent position, high elevation, and almost 400 snow cannons it’s now regarded as one of the regions with the most reliable levels of snow. The sunny south facing skiing area has 55km of runs for skiers of all abilities, however this does feel much larger due to the extensive tree skiing and interlinking runs.

For beginners there are 14 green runs and 9 blue runs and for the more intermediate skier there are 14 red runs and 8 black runs. Together this makes Les Angles a superb location for mixed ability couples or family ski holidays. For those who just can’t get enough, we recommend you try a spot of night skiing – free on the lower section of the resort on Saturdays and everyday during school holidays, from 5pm to 7pm.

For advanced skiers and the avid snowboarders there’s a snow park located in the Bigorre sector of the ski area complete with both half and quarter pipes, a wide range of rail grinds and a chill out area. In fact, over the past few years many champions in freestyle skiing and snowboarding have used this park for their training.

A must for the cross country skiers in the group, located either side of the Alpine skiing area is 36km of cross-country and snowshoe trails. Accessible trails are marked out on the piste map so you can look forward to some peaceful trails through the neighbouring forests.

    The resort

With only 600 year-round residents, the village of Les Angles is well preserved with beautiful, old traditional buildings that have plenty of authentic character. The beautiful panoramic setting, its favourable snowfall exposure and well-groomed slopes has helped to build Les Angles a solid ski reputation in France.

This unique setting in the Pyrenees is truly stunning, the village and ski mountain overlook a huge lake which makes a truly stunning back drop. The area also has a strong French/Catalan influence and culture which is really reflected in the delicious local cuisine.

There are plenty of charming restaurants scattered around the village offering traditional food at reasonable prices. There are also BBQ areas both in and outdoors on the mountain near the top of the main gondola for a picturesque picnic setting. The Les Angles Night life is quite low key so it’s great for couples or small groups looking for a relaxing ski weekend. You will find the village's après ski is centred around having dinner with friends in a restaurant where you are sure to receive a warm Catalan welcome from your host.

Take a day off the slopes and spend some time wandering around the animal park, where you’ll discover the wildlife of the Pyrenean region. Also, if you're a real animal lover, then a dog sled ride to the adventure course will be right up your valley!

If you want to spend time relaxing and unwinding, take a trip to visit one of the natural thermal baths in a neighbouring village where you will enjoy bathing in the hot sulphur water at a temperature typically of 38 degrees.
