Oslo Winter Park is the largest ski resort in the Oslo area and is under 30 minutes away from the centre of Oslo giving you the best of both city and ski! Here they offer the best skiing close to Oslo with 18 runs covering a total of 9 kilometres on the hill. One of the best things about Oslo Winter Park is that you can discover Oslo during the day and still get some skiing in at night with all 11 lifts and 18 slopes floodlit and open 5 nights a week.

The view from the top of the hill offers some incredible views of both Oslo and the surrounding area, and whilst the highest accessible point is 525m, the scenery across the fjord is sure to take your breath away! Oslo Winter Park offers skiing suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers, and for the more advanced skiers there are plenty of red and blacks to keep you busy. If that still isn’t enough for you then Oslo Winter Park is home to Europe’s only ‘Superpipe’ that is open to the public, as well as various terrain parks that accommodate beginner jumpers all the way through to the big air fanatics.

One of the best things about Oslo Winter Park is that you don’t even need to take any ski equipment with you. The hire shop there will sort you out with sallopettes, jackets and gloves, as well as your skis or snowboard and boots. Hand luggage for the plane it is!

    The resort

Just a 20-minute tram ride away from Oslo centre, Oslo Winter Park is a great place to head to cure those ski cravings for a weekend away. A great little area, that is complimented by the beautiful city of Oslo, makes it the perfect place for a couples trip away. Being in the capital city, you can expect a wide variety of excellent food, but we strongly recommend you try some of the locally caught fish or the fresh shrimp.

One of the perks of Oslo Winter Park is that you still have time to explore Oslo itself, so we recommend that you submerse yourself in Oslo’s past, present and future by taking trips to the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, whilst you are there why not see life from a Vikings perspective down at the Viking Ship Museum? Our personal favourite here at Ski Weekends is the Hollmenkollen ski jump and museum, it even has a zip wire from the top of the jump! Whatever happens, we can assure you that there is plenty to do in Oslo!

If you fancy sticking around the Winter Park, every Friday evening there is a tipi dedicated to an après ski party! But if this doesn’t take your fancy don’t forget about all the bars in Oslo that you can head to after some fun on the snow.
