Trysil has around 75km of interconnected slopes, with a wide range of runs to suit all ability levels. Whether you are just taking your first few fun days on skis in one of the beginner zones or carving down one of the blue or red groomers from near the summit of Trysilfjellet at 1132m, there really is something for everybody without having to ski at altitude.

Trysil Turistsenter and Trysil Høyfjellssenter are just 2 of the 4 areas to ski out of in Trysil. The other two areas are Høgegga where you can find plenty of black runs or there is Skihytta where you can find one of 3 beginner zones.

Trysil is Norway’s largest ski destination and is really easy to navigate and ski between all the ski areas which is especially helpful for arranging meeting points. Together this makes Trysil an ideal option for group ski holidays with differing ski abilities. The navigational ease is largely down to the long, wide pistes, all of which are groomed to ensure perfect skiing conditions for each day of your trip. There are 31 lifts at your disposal, including a few heated chairlifts! With a choice of high mountain skiing or beautiful tree runs reminiscent of North American resorts, you are provided with the perfect conditions to develop your skiing on runs that interlink.

If you are keen to try out a bit of cross-country skiing then fear not, as Trysil boasts 86 kilometres of cross-country terrain, showing that they really do cater for all! They also have great beginner trails around Turistsenter and Høyfjellssenter that are ideal for discovering your ski legs!

    The resort

From Trysil Turistsenter there is a ski bus that runs throughout the day and evening between the different resorts and through Trysil town itself. There are a wide range of restaurants and bars that cater for all parties located at Trysil Turistsenter, Høyfjellssenter and in Trysil town itself. You can even get involved in the fondue evenings hosted on the side of the mountain in Trysil Høyfjellssenter where a snowmobile will transport you for a truly unforgettable dining experience!

Whilst in the Trysil ski resort there is an opportunity to try early morning skiing throughout the week, however bear in mind that it is limited to just 100 people. If you do manage to try the early morning skiing then it does mean you get to enjoy as much quiet time on the slope as possible, followed by a hearty Norwegian breakfast! If you want to maximise your ski time even more, Trysil offer night skiing on most evenings. When not on the slopes you could try dog sledding during the day, star gazing at night and the Norwegian apres ski starts on and off the piste across the resort from 3.30pm throughout the weekend at bars such as Laaven where a full stage setup will host excellent bands

We recommend Trysil to couples who are looking to get away from it all, relax in the mountains and enjoy beautiful mountain views while enjoying their love for skiing on slopes that are kept in great condition. With some of the best beginner and great intermediate slopes around it is arguably one of the best destinations in the world to progress your skiing. So are you ready for a change of scenery this Winter?
