Para skiing in La Clusaz

ACTIVITIES AND EVENT IN LA CLUSAZ

There is an abundance of things to see and do in La Clusaz besides snow sports. The town has all the facilities you might expect and with its own aqua park, cinema, spas and multiple art galleries, there’s enough to keep your group occupied for an entire winter if need be. For those wanting to venture further afield, however, you can discover the wild side of La Clusaz on romantic snowshoe evening walks with mountain guides (great for couples & groups) or take part in paret descents - traditional Savoyard Toboggan.

In La Clusaz, there is also a multitude of winter activities available, including air sports, motorsports and sledge trips of all sorts. The thrill seekers can get their fix from paragliding whereas the slightly less adventurous can experience some of the best views Haute Savoie has to offer from the comfort of a hot air balloon.

For those who would rather keep their feet on the ground, however, motorsports are a popular choice among visitors with quad biking available with Quad La Clusaz (or snowmobile at Les Saisies).

It is certainly worth renting a snowmobile and taking one of these slippery tracked quad tours with an experienced guide. As well as providing some of the more conventional winter activities such as Dog Sledding Horse riding and magical sleigh rides - all readily available and exemplified by the idyllic winter setting.

True to its quirky fashion, La Clusaz also offers some of the more unconventional activities such as Skijoring - an old Norwegian winter sport where the skier is pulled by a horse. Furthermore, the town is renowned for its festive buzz and boasts a long list of varied organised après activities and imaginative carnivals throughout the season that is guaranteed to keep all ages occupied when not hitting the slopes. Once or twice a month extraordinary carnivals take place, such as Retro Ski Carnival (a popular event that celebrates the history of skiing) Radikal Mountain (a must for extreme skiing lovers), Carnival La Clusaz, Full Moon Skiing and many more.

Furthermore, La Clusaz has recently begun to combine its passion for innovative shows and events with extreme skiing and freestyle displays, resulting in some pretty memorable shows. In fact, you never really know what festival the locals will produce next but you can bet your ski pass that it will be excitingly bizarre.
