APRES-SKI IN LES GETS

Being a family resort, during the week it is fairly quiet around the town though it often livens up at the weekends as it welcomes flurries of weekend skiers. If nightlife is really what you are after, there are several excellent bars in town. A little quieter perhaps than the other larger French ski resorts, Après Ski in Les Gets is not quite as vibrant as its lively neighbour, Morzine which you are still able to access in the evening. However, with over half a dozen bars, there is still plenty on offer for those wanting to enjoy some traditional French Après Ski. A particularly popular spot is the Irish pub also known as ‘Le Pub Irlandais’ where live music is a fairly common occurrence whilst you are sipping on homebrewed beers and nibbling on tapas! Another bar to try out is the L’ApreSki Bar at the bottom of the Chavannes piste. Part of the Hotel Bellevue, it has become the go-to place for slopeside après ski in Les Gets with live bands during the week for those wanting to dance the night away, and a beautiful terraced area.

Les Gets Nightlife

With several après ski bars to enjoy throughout the afternoon and early evening, there is plenty of options if you are looking to quench your thirst…! As well as the aforementioned waterholes there are bars like ‘L’Anka’ tapas bar which can be found inside of the La Biskatcha restaurant. With a mosaic floor and comfortable seating areas, you will find the atmosphere relaxing as you look to unwind from a day out on the slopes with a nice glass of vino in hand.

For a livelier change in atmosphere (verging on exercise really) is the Bowling Bar which is just off of the main high-street in Les Gets and, yes you guessed it, you can have a game or two of bowling! Great for a change of scenery from your usual bars, it is a great opportunity for a family or group to spend a night out in Les Gets, drinking or not!

Finally, those looking for late night venues in Les Gets need look no further than the traditional French Discotheque, known as l’Igloo which stays open until 6 am and can get pretty lively. Alternatively, you can pop down into Morzine and try out the L’Opera Nightclub or Le Paradis both of which tend to be very lively throughout the season!
