COURCHEVEL 1550 - THE RESORT
Courchevel Village (1550) is a quiet little village offering cheaper accommodation and restaurants when compared to the rest of the Courchevel area, making it an ideal ski resort for family ski holidays. Although located lower down the mountain, it is only a short gondola ride away from the popular Courchevel (1850) where you can experience the glitz and glamour here without paying the extortionate price to stay.
There are a few operators here with small chalets in Courchevel Village and a large chalet hotel called the Hotel Chanrossa which is an ideal position for the lifts and slopes. The après ski here is lively and is great value for money, it is home to some friendly bars and restaurants so it is the perfect resort for groups who aren’t looking for a busy and rowdy nightlife. If they do however fancy a change of scenery for the evening, then they can easily access other resorts and try out the busier bars of Courchevel and Courchevel Moriond, there is a regular bus service that links all four Courchevel areas until 01:00 am so no need to worry about getting taxis.
Other activities to try out whilst staying in Courchevel Village includes snow-shoeing, snowmobiling, ice-climbing, swimming and ice-skating. Courchevel is an easy resort to get to by air, with just a two-hour transfer from Chambery or Grenoble airport or 3 hours from Geneva.
