SKI Area
- Courchevel Village is a very cost-effective way to ski in one of the world’s best areas
- There is a 2km toboggan run from Courchevel (1850) back to Courchevel Village (1550) which is floodlit until 19:30
- There is a regular bus service that links all four Courchevel areas from early morning until 01:00 am
The Courchevel ski area is part of The Three Valleys. It is the biggest linked ski area in the world which has something for everyone. With nursery slopes, free drag lifts, fast and efficient lift systems and runs to suit all abilities, it’s no wonder this is one of the most popular places for ski holidays. Despite over three-quarters of the ski area being above 1800m, there are over 2000 snow cannons to ensure good snow all season round.
When it comes to progressing your ability you have 600km to practice your technique and push yourself to new limits.

Advanced
Head up the Vizelle lift to test out lots of red runs and long cruising blacks. A must-do for all the experts out there is the Grand Couloirs, one of the steepest runs in Europe! If you want a mogul run, then head over to the Chanrossa area.
Intermediates
There is an abundance of choice on every slope for advanced intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Some of the reds can be quite tricky so for the less experienced we’d recommend going on the Chapelets lift where you have access to red runs that are usually quiet.
Beginners
Easy skiing can be found around the Jardin Alpin area around Courchevel (1850) which is reachable by gondola and there are some excellent long runs to progress to. There is a nursery area in Courchevel Village (1550), however, it is quite steep so we wouldn’t recommend for the very early beginners. There is a bigger area at Pralong but for absolute beginners, this is only reachable via bus.
Snowboarders
Courchevel has lots to offer snowboarders, particularly at the two terrain parks located just above Courchevel (1850). Snowboarders should definitely try out the Combe Saulire just before the start of the Saulire gondola and the runs located underneath Vizelle. Try to avoid the large runs from Gravelles, Pralong and Indiens and they have lots of flat sections.
Off-Piste*
Courchevel has some amazing spots if you fancy a bit of off-piste skiing. Hire a guide to fully experience the steep couloirs and powder bowls. After fresh snow, head over to the routes leading down through the trees and under the lifts in Courchevel Moriond.
