live music on the slopes of Meribel

APRES SKI IN MERIBEL

Méribel has to be considered as one of the best, if not the best resorts for après ski in France with a great range of bars to choose from both up on the slopes and down in the town centre. With a Folie Douce located just below the mid-station of the Saulire Express which makes it easily accessible to non-skiers and snowboarders as well. Whilst it is open from 9am-5pm, the real fun kicks off at 3pm when the Folie Douce opens its doors for all the partygoers and continues until 5pm when people head off either back up the mountain to get back to Courchevel or down the mountain towards Méribel and Meribel Village.

Most you will find head down to the Rond Point to listen to the live apres music which goes on daily from 5pm right through until 7pm. Oh, and don't forget to take the slide down to the loo! After 7pm most people will ski back down to Méribel centre whilst others will jump on the bus to the same destination. When back in the centre there are many different bars to head to to carry on your evening!

Meribel has lots of apres ski bars which all host various bits of live music throughout the week, so there is plenty to offer those looking for a good time after their fun on the slopes. Meribar is open all day through to 11 pm and often has live music on around 5 pm most days. Over towards Méribel Village, the après hub (especially on a Tuesday) is Lodge du Village which is known by locals and seasonaires alike as ‘LDV’ for short. A British owned bar, they have live music every Tuesday and a great terrace for a sunny day out the front!

Last but by no means least is Jack’s Bar opposite the Parc Olympique de Méribel. Jack’s is the popular destination on a Wednesday again with live music being the main attraction as well as reasonably priced drinks and a pool table. One thing is for sure, you are more likely to spend all of your money before you manage to visit all of these après ski destinations on your ski holiday to Méribel!

Meribel Nightlife

As you can probably tell from the many bars for après ski in Meribel, there is plenty to do in the evenings. As well as some of the aforementioned bars that stay open until later in the evening, there are a good mix of bars suited to different experiences.

For those looking for a civilised drink pre or post dinner, then the Den Bar is definitely one to try. An urban chic wine bar in the mountains that has a wine list created by Tim Johnston from Juveniles which is a famous wine bar in Paris, just remember that you can have dinner here as well if you please (just remember to book first as it does get busy!).

Another bar that oozes class is the bar at the Hotel Allodis which is located up at Méribel Rond Point. With a peaceful atmosphere and sofas so comfortable you would be forgiven for falling asleep on, the Allodis offers a different experience to many of the bars in town that have music blaring throughout the evening. And with a gorgeous log fire, who wouldn’t want to enjoy a nice drop of red in this establishment?

For those really looking to get involved in the partying then the ‘Tavern’ and the ‘Pub’ are a must go. With live music most nights at both and a crazy party atmosphere, you could easily forget that you are halfway up a mountain! Generally speaking, people tend to head off down to O’Sullivan’s from here (formerly known as Dick’s Tea Bar) to party on until the early hours, though some do choose to go to Les Saint-Pères which is round the side of the Parc Olympique de Méribel and is also open until late.
