SNOW CONDITIONS IN VAL THORENS

As the highest ski resort in Europe, it comes as no surprise that Val Thorens has an excellent snow record with slopes reaching as high as 3230m. This resort has had such great snow cover over the recent years that you’ll be challenged to find another resort in Europe with better conditions. With an average snowfall of 6.4m per year, doorstep skiing is almost everywhere.  

The ski area is also equipped with 380 snow cannons providing snow-making facilities for over 40% of its surface.  

In the coldest winter months of January and February, you'll be grateful for the resorts South facing ski areas as it offers some welcoming light and warmth. In the warmer spring months of April and May, you should find the best conditions are on the cooler and shady North facing ski areas. 

Is Val Thorens snow sure? With a high altitude base and slopes, Val Thorens is one of the most snow sure resorts in Europe.
