Val Thorens Resort Guide

At 2,300m Val Thorens is Europe’s highest ski resort, so it comes as no surprise that this resort is home to some of the best snow in the Alps. The high altitude means you are above the tree line so the pistes aren’t quite as pretty and scenic as other resorts, but you can always ski further down the valley and enjoy the tree-lined skiing towards Les Menuires and St. Martin.

The resort is purpose built and has been designed to offer doorstep skiing from practically wherever you stay. With accommodation ranging from 2* apartments to 5* hotels, this resort will suit a range of preferences. Whether you are travelling as a couple, or with friends or family you will love discovering the unique atmosphere that Val Thorens has to offer. Share unforgettable experiences such as dining on the slopes, an evening toboggan descent or even mountain biking on the snow.

The resort is virtually car-free and it is possible to walk to the most popular spots in a matter of minutes. In Val Thorens you will discover everything you'd expect from a popular Alpine town such as a sports centre, shopping, 40 bars and 60 restaurants. The après-ski in Val Thorens is livelier than most of the 3 Valleys, it even boasts the biggest nightclub in the Alps (Le Malaysia). There are also plenty of busy bars and restaurants such as La Folie Douce and 360.
