Come and join us at the largest ski resort in Scandinavia, Åre. Åre has been operating as a winter sports resort for over 100 years and boasts over 100 kilometres of varied slopes accessed by 42 lifts, including dedicated beginner zones in Åre Björnen. This is just one of 4 adjacent ski areas, the others being Duved and Tegefjäll which are connected to Åre Village and Åre Björnen by a devoted ski bus (free for lift pass holders).

Even though the resort is at a low altitude – just 380m above sea level – the Åre ski area is as snowsure as they come, with a guarantee of a minimum of 10 pistes open from the start of their season in November to early May. There are a wide range of slopes to suit all standards of skiing from your basic nursery slopes right through to guided heli-skiing, and for those daredevils in the group, you have a choice of 4 snow parks to keep you busy!

The Åre ski resort is perfect for cruisy intermediates who are looking to clock up some miles. Wide and quiet slopes mean minimal queuing and maximum time on the snow so you can really make the most of your ski holiday in some crystal ski conditions!

    The resort

Åre ski resort has earned itself a reputation as Northern Europe’s most stylish and cosiest mountain village. This truly memorable lakeside town is in a beautiful alpine setting with remarkable views across the incredible frozen lake. With a wide selection of shops and restaurants, there is more than enough to cater for everyone on your group ski holiday. 75 traditional and international restaurants offer up some mind-blowingly good food with a great variety too! There is even a South American tapas bar! While on the mountain you can take coffee and cake in a tipi –  in Åre you will find it in abundance.

Åre ski area is home to one of the best spots for night skiing. There are 7 runs in the area that are well floodlit to provide high quality night skiing to those that fancy it, and if you are really lucky, you may have one of the best views possible of the Northern Lights.

However, when on your group ski holiday, if there are members that are more interested in something other than skiing then fear not as there is plenty to do in resort. From 3.30pm every day there is extensive après ski on offer both on and off the piste. Dancing on tables while watching fantastic live bands is the après ski norm. For something a little more daring, you can drive a sports car on the frozen lake or have the unforgettable experience of dog sledding in the wilderness. We’re sure that Åre has enough to offer in order to fulfil all of your winter holiday needs!
