Spacious and traditionally furnished, Chalet Tavernier is located in the growing Prodains village giving you access to apres ski and ski in either Avoriaz or Morzine. 

Chalet Tavernier has become one of our most popular chalets, thanks to its great value,  sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi with fabulous sunset view sand with triple and twin/double bedroom options. Its a perfect sole occupancy chalet and due to its spacious rooms and public areas, its also a comfortable shared chalet option.  This is a great chalet holiday choice.

Maximise your ski time - there is a bag store available from 0930 if you would like to ski on your arrival day, and we can store your bags and provide a shower & change area until 17:00 on your departure day, giving you more time on the slopes.

On the first floor, there's a spacious open-plan kitchen-diner, lounge with a lovely log burner and access to a terrace and jacuzzi with lovely valley views toward Morzine, the stunning cliffs of Avoriaz and across the fields to the forest. The lounge TV has a HDMI port (French channels only, use your own account or device and cable).

The sauna is spacious and located on the ground floor, perfect to warm up and relax after a winter day on the slopes. The jacuzzi is outside on the terrace in a peaceful location, surrounded by the stunning rural landscape and wonderful views; perfect to relax in and soak up the tranquility of the valley after a hard days skiing.

As with all SkiWeekends chalets, there is a bag store available during the day if you would like to ski on your arrival and departure day, enabling to maximise your ski time in the Portes du Soleil.

The direct free ski bus to the Pleney lift to ski Morzine or the Prodains gondola to ski Avoriaz and the whole of the Portes du Soleil is just a few minutes walk away. Buses run regularly throughout the day and until 9pm in the evening, so you can enjoy your apres ski in Morzine. The Prodains Gondola closes at 9pm so again you can enjoy the apres ski at the Folie Douce in Avoriaz to the very end. At the foot of the Prodains Gondola there are a lovely selection bars and restaurants with a good apres ski vibe. 

On arrival you will be welcomed with tea and cake and before dinner on your first evening, there will be a welcome drink. Chalet Tavernier is a catered chalet with our Classic chalet board; continental breakfast & delicious afternoon tea and cake are served daily, hot breakfast options such as bacon, beans & eggs or a pancake stack (different option each morning) and porridge with sprinkles are served on 5 mornings in addition to the continental breakfast.

Lunch Baguette To Go: at breakfast you will be invited to make your own ham & cheese baguette, to take out if you wish.

SkiWeekends chalet evening meals; we all look forward to the homemade 3-course evening meal with carefully selected wine included during dinner service, which is served on 6 evenings. This is all provided by your friendly SkiWeekends hosts who lives in.

As the chalet is not located near any shops, we have an in chalet 'tuck shop' where you can purchase beer, fizzy soft drinks and snacks during your stay. The nearest supermarkets are in the centre of Morzine and Avoriaz.

During your stay, your host will cater for special diet requirements at no extra supplement, just so long a it is booked no later than a few weeks before travel. 

For families with younger children, a childrens menu can be pre booked before travel at no extra supplement.  When booking the chalet for private sole use, an earlier childrens dinner time (high tea) can be pre-booked for a supplement. 

The kettle is always on at a SkiWeekends chalet, for you to help yourself to hot drinks and your chalet host will ensure you will not go hungry and have food for energy for great days skiing.

If you enjoy finer wine with your evening meal, would like the addition of a cheese board with port after your chalet dinner and on hosted mornings set yourself up for the day with a full English breakfast; sole occupancy private groups may add this VIP upgrade to their booking in this chalet for a supplement.  Please request at time of booking your holiday

Host Time Off: Please note that your host in this chalet has Wednesday all day off and Saturday morning off, this gives you an opportunity to dine out on Wednesday evening in the local Prodains area which has a selection of local bars and restaurants. Alternately use the Prodains lift to dine in Avoriaz or the free bus service to dine out in Morzine. On your hosts mornings off, you can help yourself to a delicious contintinental breakfast, freshly baked croissants delivered to your door, ham & cheese lunch baguettes to go and afternoon tea and cake will be available for you to self serve.

**Where the host lives in, they may or may not be the host looking after you during your stay. They have their own room and bathroom but you may see them using the chalet kitchen to prepare their food

Chalet Location

The chalet is located in a quiet hamlet of Prodain village around 1km from the Prodains gondola, and 3km from Morzine.  You can apres ski and ski in Morzine & Avoriaz.

To Ski Avoriaz:

Walk:  8-10 minute walk to the Prodains lift, which takes you up into the heart of Avoriaz. You can ski back to Prodains village on a blue run from Avoriaz or enjoy the apres ski in Avoriaz and take the gondola back to Prodains.  The Prodains gondola runs until 9pm during the week and 11pm at weekends.  

Top Tip: if you hire your skis with SkiWeekends you can leave your skis at the ski hire shop overnight and walk easily in your day boots to and from the chalet. We like to drop our skis and boots at the ski hire shop before 6pm and then visit the local apres ski bars in Prodains before walking back to the chalet for dinner.

Ski Bus: walk a few minutes from the chalet to the nearest bus stop and take a short 3-minute bus ride to the Prodains gondola. Bus line A runs daily from 8am to 9pm, approximately every 7 mins during peak ski hours and then every 15 mins.

To Ski Morzine:

Ski Bus: walk a few minutes from the chalet to the nearest bus stop and take the direct bus (Line A) to the Morzine Pleney Gondola, (this takes 7-10 minutes), which runs daily from 8am to 9pm, approximately every 7 mins during peak ski hours and then every 15 mins.

Top Tip: after skiing in Morzine we like to enjoy the apres ski in Morzine, before taking the bus back to the chalet before dinner.

Chalet Tavernier has 5 good sized bedrooms spread over three floors, each one with an en-suite shower, and one room has a bath to soak in too.

Car parking - there is space to park up to 2 cars when the drive access is free of snow and ice (access to the parking area is at your own risk). For this reason, we are sorry that car parking can not be guaranteed.

The chalet is not suitable for wheelchair access.

Families & Children

Arrival Days & Check In

  • Arrive on a Monday and stay for 3 or 7 nights
  • Arrive on a Thursday and stay for 4 or 7 nights

Chalet Hosts day off is Wednesday and morning off is Saturday (these may vary over Christmas and New Year).

Chalet welcome and welcome drink is at 19:00, dinner is served at 19:30

Please note that on guest changeover days, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, both departing and arriving guests will be sharing the chalet public areas, the chalet is not sole occupancy during this time.

Check in/out:

On arrival day - you may arrive at Chalet Tavernier anytime from 09:30 to change, leave your bags and go skiing. Your bedroom will be ready by 17:00 at the latest but normally earlier.

Late Arrival Supplement - if you choose to arrive at the chalet after 21:30 and no later than 22:30, we will book a host to return to work to let you into the chalet, show you to your room, provide you with information to ensure your ski time is not delayed the next day and to provide you with a light supper. There is a  supplement for late arrivals.  For the comfort of other guests and consideration for your host, there are no arrivals into chalets after 22:30

On your departure day, bedroom checkout is 09:00 but we know that you may want to ski until the last minute, so we ensure that there is somewhere for you to leave your bags and change up until 17:00

Getting To Your Chalet

Shared, return mini-bus transfers from Geneva Airport are included in your price, and will drop you right at the door of the chalet.
