The resort is the largest in the Oisans area, in winter it makes up part of the Grande Galaxie ski area with Alpe d’Huez, Puy Saint Vincent and Vaujany. This is not a linked area as such, but they can all be skied with a single ski pass.
With a top elevation of 3,600 metres and situated in the Isere region of France, in the heart of the L'Oisans and the Ecrins mountain ranges, Les Deux Alpes boasts the longest fully on-piste vertical in the world at 2200 metres. Being around a two hour drive from Grenoble, Les Deux Alpes is perfect for a short break ski holiday.

Ski Area Overview
With a top elevation of 3600m, the largest skiable glacier in Europe and a whopping 70% of runs which are above the treeline, Les Duex Alpes is one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Alps.
Les Deux Alpes offers 200km of pistes with something for every level. It’s known as an "upside-down resort" due to its challenging lower terrain and easier glacier skiing, so a standout feature is its high-altitude slopes for beginners. A lot of investment has been made in improving the routes back to resort and there is now a blue run all the way from the very top, down into town with no lifts, so beginners can start high and ski all the way back down to resort. Experts can enjoy extensive off-piste options. Book a guide to get to and ski the legendary La Grave.
Pedestrians can take the lifts to a 3400m viewing platform, snap photos of Mont Blanc, and explore the glacial ice caves.
Expansion - New Jandri Cable Car
A new Jandri 3S cable car is set to open in December 2024! This upgraded lift will drastically cut travel time from the village to the high-altitude area, reducing it from 40 minutes to just 17 minutes. With three terminals at: 1650m (resort level), 2600m (mid-mountain), and 3200m (glacier access), the new Jandri will offer year-round access to the high-altitude terrain.
The resort has seen other significant upgrades, including the new Jandri Express and two Telemix lifts, Diable and Vallee Blanche, combining chairs and gondolas for quick access to 2400m and 2100m. A new magic carpet has also been added to the nursery area, enhancing the experience for beginners. Les Deux Alpes continues to improve with these developments.
