Norway is known as the home of skiing and the resort of Voss has a long history as a destination for winter sports and as the adventure capital of Norway. Situated in the heart of Fjord Norway Voss resort has some truly breath-taking natural scenery. With winter sports in its DNA, Voss is a bustling town with a population of 14,000 people and is much more lively than other resorts in Norway. There are plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants to sample and the après ski scene is liveliest at the weekend.
Getting to Voss
An ideal weekend destination, Voss is easily accessible by train from Bergen. The scenic railway journey from Bergen takes just over one hour, is straightforward and is a much more comfortable and relaxing option than taking a car. The station at Voss is also the departure point for the state-of-the-art tri cable Gondola that whisks visitors up the mountain in less than 9 minutes.
A typical rail journey to Voss from Bergen Airport takes 2 hours and 5 minutes. The first stretch of the journey is a tram from the airport to the railway station taking around 40 minutes. From the main railway station the scenic journey up to Voss takes just over an hour.

Nearby Myrkdalen is worth a visit with its 30km of slopes and modern lift system. Busses to Myrkdalen depart from Voss Railway station and take around 40 minutes.
