Snow Academy - Ski Better Be Happy

At Skiweekends we encourage you to Ski More Be Happy

At our Snow Academy we help you to Ski Better Be Happy

Though it may not be a name you immediately know, Snow Academy has been around since 1997, offering courses for specialised ski and snowboard development to really take your skiing to the next level.

Snow Academy specialises in tailor made ski courses, from Gap Year instructor training to expert snow coaching.

Our focus is on ensuring that you have the best holiday possible, with the best European courses run by world-class expert instructors.

All of our Snow Academy courses are run by highly qualified professionals and only take on small groups, so you get the most personal attention and coaching possible. This allows you to rapidly develop your skills and ensures the greatest level of progression.

As passionate skiers ourselves, we know how good it feels when everything suddenly goes right - when you finally iron out that bad habit you’ve been trying to kick for years. Refining the basics can make a huge difference to how you ski, and how you enjoy your skiing, which makes it incredibly important to us.

We all want to ace the basics, to ski beyond our previous boundaries and to enjoy all our ski days, no matter the conditions. Good instruction can make this happen.

Of course, we do still offer instructor training thanks to our partnership with the WSSA. Whether you’re looking to spend your Gap Year achieving your BASI 1 + 2, or you want to work towards a higher level instructor qualification, the WSSA will provide the best quality instruction to help you succeed.

The Snow Academy not just instruction, this is true coaching. It’s an investment in yourself and your skills that will last a lifetime.

So why don’t we do instruction ourselves here at Skiweekends?

Well, we know you want to get the most out of every second of your time on the mountain. You don’t want to spend your time in a crowded ski school class, lining up just to be told the same thing as the person ahead of you.

Your time is precious, so you want to spend it investing in yourself, getting results that will keep you smiling long after you’ve unclipped your skis.

Skiweekends and the Snow Academy have had a successful partnership for years. Like a perfectly fitted ski boot and its binding, we work well together. So, when you book with one of our Snow Academy partners, we will make sure everything is seamlessly sorted for you.

Tuition might not be the Skiweekends’ forte, but accommodation, travel and epic ski holidays certainly are. Just ask the tens of thousands of our happy guests over the years!

Where Can You Go?

We are serious super-fans of Verbier’s Warren Smith Ski Academy, as you can see for yourself with our experience of a week-long course here.

No matter your skiing level, WSSA courses are renowned for being truly transformational and receive incredible feedback from guests, many of whom keep coming back for more!

WSSA offer weekend, mid-week and week-long courses, both on and off piste, with a maximum of 6 or 8 skiers per group.

If you’re looking for a serious ski getaway, this is the place for you. A legendary resort, legendary courses and a true legend himself in the form of Warren Smith, a WSSA course has it all.

The Avoriaz Alpine Ski School has been a firm feature in this hugely popular resort for almost twenty years. Run by Ian Mckeller, they offer a great service with courses for all levels of skier and some of the friendliest instructors in the Alps.

We would particularly recommend their development course, introduction to off-piste and ladies weeks, all of which provide expert instruction and great learning atmospheres.

Indeed, as far as learning environments go, Avoriaz has got to be one of the best classrooms in the Alps! Set in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Avoriaz has easy access to an enormous amount of skiing and a wide variety of snow sure terrain.

We must admit, it’s also likely to be a much less expensive experience than a Verbier getaway, especially when you stay with us at Skiweekends.  We’ve got a wide range of beautiful ski-in, ski-out chalets right next door to the Ski School meeting point in Avoriaz,

Courchevel 1650

We have worked with New Generation for many, many years and have felt privileged to see how they have grown and developed in this time. Owner Philippe has always maintained strong values and ensured that quality is at the heart of what New Generation can provide.

A charming resort with the entirety of the 3 Vallées at your fingertips, Courchevel 1650 makes a fantastic base.

Our two large chalets will help you keep costs down as you discover the area and develop your skills.

Arguably the most famous ski resort in the world, there’s a reason Chamonix draws so many skiers from across the globe to its famous slopes.

Though the separate ski ares and large town make it a less convenient destination than many, it’s one that should be on every skiers’ bucket list.

Prepare for some of the best off piste you’ve ever experienced, however a warning - just because tracks are leading a certain way doesn’t guarantee it’s safe (unless you ski with a rope and a harness!).

On piste, your perceptions of what defines a blue/red/black run may be challenged, as will your ski skills! But it’s all part of the charm and one of the reasons so many skiers see Chamonix as one resort not to be missed.

The absolute experts in this area are Evolution2, friends of ours for over 20 years now. Their unparalleled knowledge of the area, as well as their friendly coaching style mean that you are in very safe hands. If you are heading to Chamonix, make sure not to miss the famous Vallee Blanche. This is ski guiding, but not as you know it….

There’s a huge amount of accommodation available in the bustling town of Chamonix, so we have plenty of great hotels to suit every budget.

We can also help to arrange private courses in most of our resorts. Simply get in touch and we’ll be happy to recommend some of the best instructors around.
